Another AUS800 thread or Pad Diary III
Here is the AUS part of this thread dealing with a new fear. I weigh every pad and record it. I have been doing that since Sept.1. I am noticing a gradual improvement in wetness. Say from an average urine weight of 14 oz a day down to 8- 10 oz a day. Well, that is some improvement. But I have had this fear- what if my leakage gets down to a point where the doctor says, "This is not enough leakage to warant an expensive AUS surgery. Live with it."
I discussed that with my local uro yesterday. He told me the AUS surgery has nothing to do with the amount of leakage- it is based on what the patient can live with- can tolerate. Even 2 or 3 oz a day would still mean I jcould get the AUS installed. The problem I told him is the stress incontienece- you never know when you are just going to leak through everything and really embarass yourself. And I was once very active- now I am done to mostly sitting and I drink very little water. Incontinence has changed me as a person, changed the way I live, my acitivities, just about everything in my wife. So yes, even if I was only leaking 2 or 3 oz a day I would want the surgery. I can hardly wait for this to happen.

Good luck to you
Trew,
Good luck to you on getting the AUS soon. I know you have wanted it for several months now. Perhaps it won't be too much longer.
I still have my battle with incontinence, 3-4 Poise Overnight pads and smaller light pad overnight. I am trying to get back to kegels which seem to help a little.

Bad Day heh
Don't let it whip ya my friend. As we both know oh so well, it can put you in a hole that it seems will never get right. We shall overcome the crap Bud. Three more weeks till the turn on and I'm now back to full flood, yikes, after a week with no pads what a revoltin' developement this is lol. But I understand your worries, even now that I am sure things are really going well I wonder what if it doesn't work(I know it will!) You and I have become the worlds biggest pessimests. Take the wife out for a quick lunch or something to make you smile even for a short while. I know how deep that hole can get but dont climb in. the time left is not really long. i used to love the depends jokes as much as anyone I now hate them, amazing. THe lord has seen fit to bail my butt out so I'm sure hes working to fix yours. Hang on, the good stuff is coming back.0 -

guards. You are progressing just as every other successful AUS patient I have talked with (excepting your extreme post op pain). But now you are the road to success. The swelling has gone down right about the time you were sure you never needed an AUS because your incontinence was cured without activation. Lo' and behold, shortly thereafter, the flood waters rise. Next up, activation, and then an incontinent's heaven. It's coming guards, you are just about there. Cheers.0 -

Ob, you paint such a hopeful picture I think I would want an AUS even if I didn't need one. I am excited for the future preospects before guards myself. I believe this will work for him. My local uro told me this week the success rate is very high for the AUS.0 -

for the morning. I guess I should dial my enthusiasm for the AUS down a notch or two. "I think I would want an AUS even if I didn't need one" was great!! As much as mine works well, I'd take normal in a minute, were it availble. Thanks for the laugh.0 -
