My Mom is in this trial right now. She has had 6 weekly treatments so far and Wednesday she will have her first CT scan since starting the trial.
The doctor told my mom they are more excited about the weekly taxol then the morab and that is what they think is making the difference.
Mom has finally started to put on some weight, her hands are stronger, she is able to clean her house and she is going on walks for the first time in nearly a year.
I will let you know the results of the ct scan as soon as we get them. The doctor did say Mom's stomach felt softer and smaller. We need to hear something positive since they were unable to remove Mom's tumour due to the size (9 cm) and location of it (wrapped around the blood line).0 -

I looked into this trial and another. My Doc steered me away from this one and into the other. Since it is double blind you don't know if you are receiving the Taxol alone or not. There is a woman on here or on the inspire.com board who is on this trial and it is working for her. You can go to inspire.com. Their board is setup differently and you can browse under specific topics like clinical trials. Good luck!!!0 -

That is good to hear. I do hope that her cancer has been shrinking. Did the doctor say that he hoped for remission or only shrinkage? Results would be welcome to hear.0 -

Remission for my Mom is unlikely since "the beast" still lies within her. Ideally shrinkage would be the goal so they can attempt another surgery to remove her tumour, then perhaps we can even think about remission.0 -

So Mom got her CT scan results on Wednesday. Her tumour has not shrunk but it has not grown. They are calling it a partial success since there is no growth. She is only half way through the trial so i guess we'll see once she is done.0 -

So glad to hear it has not grown! When life is the prize, a stalemate is a victory.0
