I want to wish you all the best, Sephie! It doesn't sound like you're in for a fun time, but if everything comes back good, then that's what counts. Please let us know your results when you know.

Wishing you great results and lots of reasons to celebrate once you finish your tests!
Anxiously awaiting your good news.

Im heading to MD Anderson this weekend too for my second follow up, I know how you feel its not much fun. You'd think we would get used to all the poking and proding and of course the waiting, yea right. Well know that my thoughts are with you and also wishing you good results and a nice smile for your way home.
Take Care

got back from MDA. all good. no explanation for pain, bump and inflammation. go back in 6 months. supposed to go back for radiologist to do DRE in 3 months but he HURT me soo badly. i do not think he put any lubricant on his glove - not that i noticed anyway. so i do not like him anymore. will go to my colorectal guy in shreveport who diagnosed my cancer correctly after being missed by local proctologist for 10 months. sephie0 -

I'm glad you got good news and there are no concerns about the issues you've been having. Sorry to hear the DRE was painful. I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to that doctor again.0 -

So happy for your good news....
I agree with Martha, I don't blame you for not going back either. I have not had any painful DRE's post treatment and there should not be any reason for him to hurt you that bad.
Take care

Hi Sephie, I am so happy for your great news, as this gives everybody hope. They didn't say what the bump was? I know I was tender on the left side also, opposite of where the tumor was. I still fell scar tissue there also. Well at least they are not worried about it, which is good. I know I will give my own dre just to see if there are any changes, I will be able to notice right away.
I quit going to my radiologists too, because he graduated in 2006, he was pretty new, and I think he only had one other anal cancer patient. He was good as far as the radiology part but not the one on one with me and exams, as he hurt me too, and seemed offended when I couldn't take the pain. My other drs never hurt me like that. So I just went to the 2 other drs I have my oncologist and my colon dr who are great.
I wish you well. Lori0 -

why do not they understand the PAIN?????? good grief. that is ridiculous to not be gentle . we are not like other people with normal anuses. ours are tender and changed. I will tell my PA with the radiaologist when i see them on 6 months about the pain. ( I will not go back in 3 months just to let him do the DRE) . if the procto in 6 months looks good , i will not let him (radiologist) do it. i think he needs to do it just for research. MDA does research for anal cancer. i understand he needs the research to help others but be GENTLE> sephie0
