Healing thoughts
Sending lots of healing thoughts and good recovery vibes to Amber. I'm sure she is going to be just fine... and if you get a chance to talk to her once she comes out of recovery... you tell her that Cheryl says to soak up all the attention and love her family and friends are surrounding her with during her recovery. Although no one enjoys going to the hospital and having surgery (we can all think of better things we'd like to do with our time)... since it is something she is going through then take her time and really soak up the attention. Do not feel she has to hurry to prove "I'm alright! I can do it myself!" No, let everyone else help because not only will that help with her healing and recovery, it gives loved ones permission to be part of the journey and it is just as important for family/friends/caregivers to be able to do things that are helpful and positive.
Enjoy your vacation and know that Amber is going to be fine

I think that's typical- my resection took about 5 hours.
It's evening now, so I hope and pray all went well and she's in recovery. The first couple of days are usually rough, but it gets better pretty quick after that.
Please keep us posted!
Prayers,

It has been a LONG stressful day. Surgery was about 5-6 hours. Good news is they were able to remove both tumors and get clear margins so that evil is outta there! Doc said surgery went as well or even better than they could have hoped for. She has been transported to a room by now. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes. I hope this brings encouragement and hope to others with stage IV colon cancer with liver mets. Obviously the fight is still on, but this in one giant step in the right direction. 6 months ago it looked bleek, today there is hope and light on the horizon. My heart is full of thanksgiving to God who is and always has been in control.0 -
