Thanks for the info~
I am flying to phoenix in 2 weeks and not sure if I should do the scan, the pat or both?? I am seeing my radiation oncologist for a follow up (6mo) and will ask his opinion. I have an implant in and that is all, but just not sure of the protocol of flying with fake boobs these days....:) i do have a card (like a credit card) that has my implant info on it to show if there are any Q's at security~

Remember, I have been on 8 flights since January, and only once was I asked to step into Scan machine, which I did not decline. It was that time that they also chose to do a pat down.... which was light, and I did mention the prosthesis. On all other flights I only went through metal detector machine with no issue. You need to decide for yourself (w/your onc's help) if you wish to refuse a scan if selected for it. As for the pat, just tell TSA immediately of implants etc and I think all will be fine. I was always prepared in case I was not confortable with a situation, to politely ask for a supervisor. I did allow extra time on each flight check in to allow for any problem that might arise. Enjoy your travels!0 -

Thanks for all of this info cavediver! I, personally, don't have a problem with anything at the airports. I would rather be safe!
