Hey Jewells!
Welcome to the club!! Cancer definitely sucks... but hey, you've got the right attitude! You have a son who will keep you hopping and from your picture, it looks like you live in wonderful country with horses!! SO.ENVIOUS!!
You have just joined the club of a wide variety of folk here... those who live in the country and those who live in the city and everyone inbetween. Oh ya, and there are some of us Canucks from up north of the border and even those from across the pond in Europe and Britain. We even have a few from Hong Kong and China... and let's not forget Australia and NZ!! So there is a wealth of information from around the world here at your fingertips... and more friends who really and truly know what you are going through at any given time.
So don't be shy... feel free to ask questions any time you have them, or just join in on the conversations at hand. We are glad to have you join us... although, sorry for the reason why you found us.
Cheryl

We're happy to have you
We're happy to have you here. If your oncologist says you will never be cured, that is likely true, but it's not certainly true. Even if you can't count on everything being good, nonetheless it still could be. We're crossing our fingers, and we hope you will stay in touch. Tell us how your tests come out, and tell us how you feel. We're always here.

Hey Jewells!
Welcome. I dont know enough to give any advise but there are quite a few people here who have beat the odds with stage 4. Keep posting and opening up and some of the people here will speak up. I am glad you here, I have learned so much here.
Your new friend,
Tom0 -
Hi there
I am new here too. I have stage 4 also, but I plan on sticking around for a long time, and becoming a senior member eventually.
You are such a wonderful mother to be concerned about the psychological effects on your son. I do my best to act tough too, so I don't upset my wife.
It is nice to meet you, and I hope to see more of your posts.

Welcome
Hi Jewells,
I am not happy you have cancer, but happy you found us. Feel free to vent and cry on our shoulder0 -
Jewells
Welcome! I can totally relate to keeping it together so that you don't freak your son out. This is a tough journey and can be even tougher when you're a single parent. I'm happy you found us here so we can help you when you need us. Just holler and one of us will come and listen to what's going on and ask any questions cause there is almost always someone with a great answer ... and there are no dumb or silly questions. Again, welcome to the family.0 -
Welcome!
Hey, Jewells. So sorry about your diagnosis, and particularly about the change in status. I can see where that would be a shock at such a young age. I know you're concerned about your son, but as has been noted, we have some long time Stage 4's here. Praying you'll be in that category.
*hugs*

My hats off to all moms and
My hats off to all moms and pops raising kids as single parents with cancer. My dad past when I was your sons age and my mom recently past last November. So I know your sons struggle with your diagnosis and I can only imagine yours. But the best advice I can give u is to educate your son on your decisions and be honest with him. Best of luck and again my hats off to you. Just remember there's no right or wrong on this site so ask or say anything you wish0 -

Me too
I'm new here too Jewells, so welcome to THIS club as well! LOL
It was hard enough trying to "keep a stiff upper lip" for our kids through all this (Stage III colon cancer), my wife and I...I can't even FATHOM how you're doing it. You have my deepest respects for what you're doing.
This seems like a really great place to hang out with others that can TRULY understand us0
