****'s scan - stable
**** had a CAT scan on Monday and it showed the lung mets stable. The largest one is 8mm. At first he was upset with stable but then the oncologist talked to him today and said that stable is good. He is going to keep him on Folfori + Avastin for another 3 rounds and scan again. **** will see Dr. Lenz in 2 1/2 week and get confirmation.
Take care.
Aloha,
Kathleen

Kathleen that's great that **** is doing so well . Hugs to you and your family Tina0 -
yes, stable is good
Hi, I understand ****'s feelings of being upset at the "stable" news at first, as we all just want the darn things to go away or at least to have shrunken quite a bit. But, stable IS good- it means the chemo stopped them from continuing to grow, as they had been doing. Now that they've been stopped in their tracks, well now they can start shrinking and going away!
Onward and forward...
Hugs and prayers,

stable is good!
sometimes holding your own is progress! and I am betting, just like a dip in a spring fed creek, the "shrinkage" will come. I know, sorry, the whole idea of guys rooting for shrinkage tickles the funny bone some time....apology for bad humor, wishing you continued success.

Yayayayaya!
Stable is EXCELLENT!!! Oh sure, if he had a scan and it showed there was nothing there, that's the ultimate fantasy... but chances are, it is a fantasy. He hasn't been on this chemo long enough for them to have totally disappeared. But for them to have stopped growing in this short of a period, then that is EXCELLENT news!!!
And let's face it... if we are treating this as a chronic disease, then we have to look at what are our reasonable goals? Obviously, the top goal is to have the tumours shrink... and that will take time and treatments. But if we can stop them dead in their tracks from growing... and keep them stable oh, for 20 years or more... we can live with that, no??
Of course, reality might be that they stop growing... rest for awhile... start growing again. Every time that happens, we zap them again with more poison. **** is obviously responding well to the poison... so it's time to celebrate!!!
So happy for you both!!

Oh Kathleen:
Just keep saying stable is good, stable is good, stable is good.
Sure you want more, been there, done that, but after stable comes shrinking, shrinking shrinking.
Please give **** our best and tell him to hang in there, we know firsthand just how hard it is.
Hugs - Tina0 -
