    My husband

I know how scary this EC sounds. My husband had 28 radiation treatments, 6 Chemo and then Ivor Lewis surgery on Dec 10th. He is doing fine except today he had to have a Hernia operation. Came through it great and is feeling good tonight. It has been a long , tough year, but he is getting stronger everyday and the surgery was sucessful. His was stage 3 and did not get into lymph nodes. We are trusting in God to keep him well. He is 77 years old and has had several other surgeries in the past.
Hang in there and go after this Cancer. You won't be sorry for the fight.

I too was diagnosed as Stage II
    Gene,

I was diagnosed as Stage II. I had Ivor Lewis surgery in December of 2009. When they did the pathology on the tissue they removed as a part of my surgery they found active cancer cells in one lymph node so I had follow up chemotherapy.

I am sure all the testing and waiting for results is getting frustrating at this point but be patient. It is really important they understand the state of the cancer so they can insure you get the correct treatment. The standard approach is chemotherapy and radiation therapy prior to surgery.

I am about 14 months post surgery and I am feeling much better and back to my normal activities again. Of course I still have regular follow up visits with my oncologist and regular CT scans but at the moment, (fingers crossed), I show no signs of cancer.

Hang in there, there is light at the other end of the tunnel.

    Best Regards,
