Back home from my break

Hi Loves,
When last I posted I had literally cried on my ONC's shoulder and told him that I needed a break! I have been chemoing for 13 months for my 1st recurrance and I had HAD ENOUGH! He put me on prozac :) and gave me a month off. I return to my carbo/gemzar next week.

This time off has done me a world of good. I went to visit my oldest and dearest friend in NYC. She lives in an ethnic Italian neighborhood and since my name is "Maria", I was welcomed like family...... everyone was baking biscotti, etc and arguing where to take me for the best cappicino/pizza/pastries, etc. fun, fun, fun and a much needed sensation for me.

From there, my husband and I went done the coast to Maryland to visit my son, daughter-in-law and 4 year old grand daughter. I stocked up on lots of hugs and played silly dollie games by the hour. We went to the aquarium in Baltimore, ate seafood and I got to see my adorable grand daughter's preschool, gymnastics class and purple bedroom. It probably helped that I arrived with a huge box of pastries, cheesecake and biscotti from my new friends in NYC!

I'll probably whine next week when I'm back on steroids/carbo/gemzar, but actually I'm starting to get that icky feeling worrying that every ache and pain means progression... I know many of you can relate.. so I'm ready to get back in the saddle, fight like hell and hope that I can get another break in the future!
(((HUGS to you all))) Maria

    The Best Medicine
It sounds like you got the best 'medicine' on your break from chemo. There is nothing better than a grandchilds hug ! You have great memories to sustain you thru the yucky chemo times. Enjoy this last week before you return to your treatment nd I'm sure there will be many long breaks in your future.
    Good Luck

Hi Maria, I am so glad you
Hi Maria, I am so glad you had a wonderful time off. We all know how it is. And we just need them every so often. I missed you on here but I am glad you got to visit with friends and family. Yes, there is nothing like the hug from a grandchild. It is unconditional love.

Now it is time for you to get back in the ring. Fight with all you got Maria. Just keeps thinking about those hugs and you will make it.

I am sending you my hugs for the day.

    Linda
