I was told 64ozs a day of water on carbo/taxol but the doctor said caffeine and other things could cause dehydration. They did stress that there was no such thing as too much water. I got one of those big 32oz bottles and filled it in the morning and then filled it at lunch. It does seem like alot but I never had a problem with dehydration.
Wish you the best on your treatment.

Smart Water
It does seem like a lot of water! That's 1.5 times the standard daily recommendation of eight 8 oz. glasses per day. But, I was also told to drink this much.
Specifically, my oncologist asked me to drink 2 of the 1.5 liter bottles of Smart Water each day for 4 days: the 2 days prior to carbo/taxol, the day of the infusion, and the next day. With the purchased water bottles sitting near me, and the goal of emptying them, it wasn't so hard to drink it all.
I questioned him once about drinking regular water instead of buying the Smart Water. I can't recall what he said, but there was something about the Smart Water product that he liked. Obviously, you want to avoid any sweetened or flavored waters such as Vitamin Water.0 -

Thanks Rookerbird,
I may try the Smart Water. I also get hydration during chemo, not sure how much.

2 Liters
I drank 2 liters of water a day without fail and never had a dehydration problem. I found that it was easier for me to drink room temp water in large quantities. The cold water gave me brain freezes and burns going down....which is great when your hot and need refreshment. I filled a 1 liter bottle up in the am and made myself drink before lunch. The second liter before bedtime.
Oh Yeah...buy more toliet paper
Good Luck,
