Hi, my name is Mike and today, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She had a CT Scan done while in the ER and they found cancer from her liver down to her uterus. As of today, she has not met with the Oncologist. She has only met with the ER Doctor and the OBGYN Doctor. Both doctors did not paint a good picture but couldn't really tell us anything other than what they saw from the CT Scan. I was hoping to talk with stage 4 cancer survivors to get an understanding of how they have been able to beat cancer. She and I could use as many examples of defying the odds as possible. Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you.

All the best!

Mike

    liver cancer
last jan i was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. at first my oncologist said nothing could be done. He did pu us in touch with Dr in Little Rock who specializs ir radiological therapies.A chemo embolization was trid but could not be done,Next he researched with some Dr frends and successfully did a bland embolization, Then he did 3 chemoembolizations and one radio ablation with alcohol infusion,Later some spots appeared on an MRI but they were dead tissue. Then more spots showed up on a novomber MRI A biopsy with 9 tissue samples showed only dead tumor cells.Naturally we were elated and all the docs puzzled, I suppose the cancer is lurking but it has not shown up again I take nexavar and lots of allogec acid in ground up drinks.Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Liver Cancer..my husband beat it..so far
Mike, just to let u know there is always hope!! It is hard at times to think this..my husband was diagnosed first with appendicitis..that turned into full blown cancer in the appendix..then it spread to the colon..in Oct, 09 he had 2' of colon removed..and after 3 treatments and scans it was then located in the liver..5 large tumors!! At first they did not think anything could be done..but our liver specialist that teaches about liver cancer in Dallas TX...told us he needed to lose weight first..he did..and in Dec. 09 my hubby had a 55% liver resection and aggressive chemo afterwards..he just finished with chemo in September of 2010 and we are a 1 yr survivor..All tests blood work is done monthly to watch the CEA count..Cancer count..so far it is showing only 2.5 and this is unbelievable..so no signs of cancer..stage IV..now..got that!!! We still have to have scans every 3 months for a year..We have strong faith and lots and lots of facebook friends..I joined a support group on colon cancer thru facebook and I can tell u this has been my support..let me hear from you..i will pray for your mom and for your familyt and you..And hope u can receive this MIRACLE..

    Strong and Confident
Hello Mike. My husband was diagnosed with Liver Cancer last January 2010 and the doctors told us that there was very little that they could do. Things were getting very gloomy until he and I Decided that we would fight this together and that we would start acting as if we've survived this already. Ed went through radioambulazation and is now on a low dose of Nexavar; the cancer is still there but so are we!!
Deciding to fight this and to be strong and confident has also helped us be more objective about what the doctors tell us and at this time we will be going to get a second opinion on his care. I started a blog to tell our story and to help us get through this. Please visit and follow me at strongandconfident-maria.blogspot.com/

My prayers are with you and your family.
