My boss wants to meet me this afternoon...

She said she can't tell me till I get there. I am worried
to say the least.

    Perhaps
    it's the other way around, and she has some GOOD news that she wants to tell you in person? Usually when it's bad news, the Man (or as in this case the Woman) has no problem passing it along via email or voicemail or even snailmail.

    It must be good or she wouldn't have said anything. My DH got a pink slip by FedEx once. I think they were in a hurry.

    Watch, it's going to be something that has nothing to do with work. Maybe she has a friend with breast cancer and she wants to ask you questions. My experience with worry (which is a silly thing for me to do, but I do it anyway:) is the reality ends up being something I could have never ever predicted and most of the time not harmful.

    But now you've got us all curious so report back, please.

    I would think it would be good news. I would NEVER set a meeting ahead of time like that with bad news myself, and hopefully that's the case here as well.

    I agree with Victoria .. having been the person calling
    individuals in for talks, layoffs or general team pep talks .. bad news is usually given late on Friday afternoon, or first thing in the a.m.

    When do you meet with her? I don't think it's bad news. She'd have spoken to immediately if it was bad news. I think.
