Little things

Last week was a milestone. I was finally able to sit up and wear a seatbelt, so my wife and I went out to dinner for for the first time in almost four months! Today I actually drove the car and went shopping on my own!

Little things, but they sure feel good!

    Congrats
That is awesome!!!! I remember insisting that I go to Target, on the day I got out of the hospital after my colon resection surgery. Not a good idea I almost fainted in the store, boy did I have a lot to learn about recovery LOL. I hope you continue to do well!!!

I use a pillow to keep the seatbelt away
Since resection and port surgery, I have carried a small pillow in my car to keep the seatbelt off of the sensitive areas. Glad you got to get out of the house for awhile.

    Congrats on that important milestone!!

When I did that, it almost made me feel grownup that I didn't have to have someone driving me around. :)

If anyone knows it is you and Buzz!
I should also mention that I wore my jeans. Real pants beat the hell out of sweats!

Driving was comfortable, so tomorrow I will venture out a bit further and drive myself to the doctor. Still within 15 minutes of home, so I can't get into too much trouble :)

Hey Blake. I remember how great it felt after surgery to get in the truck and drive off somewhere. I'm really glad you are recovering and enjoying what you can. Keep it up.

That's great news. It's nice to get out and get aggravated with something other than cancer

    So very glad
So very glad you are feeling so much better. To become independent again is a milestone and a real moral booster.

Hope every day from here on out brings more and more of those milestones for you.

    Hugs,
