Just a little update on John. We had our first week of our personal trainers (Hospice) assisting us in our care for John. It is going well. I have learned alot, cried more than enough and laughed and shared many a story and memory. John is doing well for some one who has had stage IV EC for almost two years.

John is still eating some. His item for the week was dark meat chicken. He is walking with assistance of family and a walker. Not real strong in the legs but the will is there. He still is the same loving man I married.

My older brother was here to help this week. Our best family friend arrived from Virginia with a one way ticket. Bless her heart she is here for the long haul. God has so blessed us with family and friends.

My6 year old grandaughter her mom and I went to counceling yesterday. Hannah drew pictures on the windows with special markers and it was of her crying. We talked and there were tears too. She took a picture of her and her papa along because he was not able to go. When we got home she sat in his bed and read to him. A memory full of sweetness.

John has two sisters and his younger will come this week and the other following later. Last year at this time I was planning a surprise 60th birthday party for John. He will be 61 on the 27th. He has always had such determination and strength. Now is the time for us to surround him with all our love and caring to make his time here on earth full of Love and dignity.

John has touched so many peoples lives and it is hard for him to comprehend that there are so many loving him. We will contine to do that. This board has been so helpful and supportive for me when I needed it most. God has put us in eachothers lives to learn and teach eachother.

I will keep you posted to tne journey where ever the path it takes. God bless each and every one of you. Love Shirley

Know that you, John, and your family are in my prayers. I am sorry you are going through this, but I am so thankful that you have Hospice there to help you. Life isn't fair. I pray that God will give you the grace to deal with each day.

    Congratulations
    Dearest Shirley and John
So nice to hear an update from you. Glad John is coming along, slowly, but surely! Your Granddaughter sounds so precious! She brought me tears of joy when I read she sat on his bed and read to him. Priceless memories. Happy 61st birthday John a little early! Praise God for letting you be here with us!
Praise God for your wonderful family and friends. They are such a blessing. Support is so important. And you are all so fortunate to have a great support team. Take it easy John. Remember, Slow and easy win the race! We will continue to pray for all of you. Continue to have a slow healthy recovery. Peace.
