Response to cfont11 and asking for prayers please.....

Hello, My story is something similar to yours..... I went into the hospital in September with fluid around the lungs, bloating, and throwing up. To make a long story short, initially the plan was to do the total hysterectomy etc. to remove everything, and a temporary colostomy for a blockage. However, only the omentum could be removed and 7 or 8 inches of the intestines resected with a temporary colostomy. I began to lose too much blood and my blood pressure dropped and the surgery was not completed. So plan two was to have 4-6 carbo/taxol chemos and then complete the surgery. During the chemos the gyn/onc felt nothing unusual after the 3rd chemo and my CA 125 dropped steadily from 24,000 before surgery to 34 after my 5th chemo. This all gives me hope. I have a CT scan scheduled for March 8th and the follow-up doctor appts. with the gyn/onc and chemo doctors on the 16th. I'm not sure whether I will have a second surgery as I was orignally told by the gyn/onc since he once commented that we'd have to see about that after the chemos and as for the temporary colostomy he also seemed a bit vague at one point which I read by his body language. The chemo doctor had also said that since I was stage IV, I'd probably always be seeing him for treatment. So I'm not sure what they'll say after they see the scan. I'm praying that the chemo did its job to shrink the cancer enough for me to somehow find remission with or without surgery. I'd sure like to be rid of the colostomy bag too as it is so near my stomach that I am constantly having to drain or change it. I'm anxious about what the doctors are going to say and would appreciate prayer please. PS: I went to a support group meeting here in San Diego, CA, this week and am happy to share that I met some ladies who shared stories of hope even with stage 3 and 4 ovarian cancers. It helped me a lot as does the support I find here in this discussion group. You are all in my prayers as well, Christine
