in Grief and Bereavement #1
Some friends of mine own the local hair salon here in town. Today we had our St Patricks day parade. I drove the ridiculously expensive convertible I bought myself after Hank passed so the girls could hold a banner and we threw gifts into the crowd. I have to admit I had a great time. But now I feel I guilty, here I am out playing without him

Was I wrong?

    Don't think so
    Many of us here have experienced the "going on with life" guilt syndrome. It is not unusual. We need to seize every and any little moments, that are sent our way, and feel happiness again. There will be plenty of moments when the sorrow will visit us again and again.

    Take each day at a time. I hope that one day we will all be able to laugh and smile without a second thought!

    I felt the same way over a particularly enjoyable evening and posted it here. Most people replied, and I eventually agreed that Mike would want me to laugh and have a good time. But I totally understand where you're coming from and have felt the same way.

    Short answer, No, it's not wrong.

    You can't walk forward while looking behind you. And if you can take a video and post it on YouTube. People were not meant to live in shadow, but live in the light.

    If this was reversed
    What would you want your husband to do if you were the one that was no longer here? I ask myself that often. I would want Terry to live, to find some happiness in life. I know he wants that for me.
