I go tomorrow to see my surgeon tomorrow late afternoon (14 days post surgery) to hopefully have the stitches out and get my first chance to see the skin graft and new nipple. I am hoping the graft has taken and that all is well. I have no idea how many stitches there are, just eyeballing it it looks like LOTS! Will update you all tomorrow.

    Many stitches is a good
Many stitches is a good thing, in my opinion, because it may less scarring later. Skin is better approximated. I hope you are thrilled with results, but also remember that what you see tomorrow will not be what you see in a couple of months--you will continue to heal for some time. You are in my prayers and I will be there holding your hand tomorrow--don't ever doubt it :-)

Has it been 14 days since your surgery? It's good to hear you are so over that hurdle and are in the process of unveiling your new and improved breast.

    Take care, God bless.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I had the stitches removed, I have no idea how many stitches there were the doc said there were a lot! He left a few in that were a tad stubborn so as not to disturb the skin graft which he said so far has taken 100 percent. I was not able to see it very well, what I did see looked okay to me. My husband was there and watched the stitches removed, he said he was impressed that it looked pretty good for such an early stage so I guess that's a good thing! It is back under wraps for a few more days, I have to change the bandage this weekend. Again thanks for all your good wishes!

I am so happy for you.
Re, hearing that the skin graft took 100% is music to my ears. I am so happy for you.

Concentrate on eating protein to help you heal. Do not cheat in eating less protein.

If your body tolerates Vitamin C, double or triple your dosage (instead of one dose, take one dose with breakfast, then one with lunch, and finally one with dinner.) Vitamin C also helps you heal.

The year is starting to look good.

    Lots of Hugs,

Had to go back to the surgeon today because the skin graft was looking odd and I was having shooting pains....scared me a bit. Found it something I did not know, between now and the next 6 weeks it will change color and shed several times. What prompted me was the fact that I noticed white was suddenly forming around the graft area, it turns out that is super normal and to be expected. My surgeon was wonderful and told me to call anytime I feel something is not right and they will squeeze me in, which I deeply appreciated. So the long and short of it is so far so good. Thank you all for your support!
