Taxol or perhaps A/C changed my eyesight!
Has anyone ever heard of this happening??

As natly said...natly15 said:Yes, particularly when you
Yes, particularly when you are actively going thru chemo treatment.
I noticed my vision was a bit sloppy during chemotherapy. I was about two months out from chemotherapy when my annual eye exam came up, I was worried, but when all was said and done my prescription stayed the same.
I remind myself with some frequency that not every ache, pain, or physical anomaly is necessarily tied to my cancer diagnosis.0 -

As far as I remember - I
As far as I remember - I didn't have any changes while on A/C or Taxol. I had had an eye exam a year ago in Jan (2010) while still on Taxol (Jan 28, 2010 last one) and did get new glasses - had changed some but it had been 6 or 7 years since I had been to the Eye Dr. so some change was to be expected. Late Oct 2010, I got horrendous pain/pressure around my right eye - was at a Women's Retreat that my PA happened to be at so Monday morn she got me an Eye appt for Tuesday and a CT Scan for Thursday. The only thing that showed up was the needed new glasses in less than a year - so perhaps it was the Chemo that caused it. The only thing they came up with was that a nerve in head had gotten 'irritated' for some unknown reason because pain meds would not do anything to the pain but a Dexamethasone every 36 hrs kept the pain/pressure under control for 36 hrs. The pain/pressure quit happening as fast as it had started 2 weeks after starting the DEX.
Who's to know for sure - no one. We are each so unique.

I also experienced vision
I also experienced vision changes during chemo...very discouraging as I am a prolific reader and was doomed to TV watching for a bit until I finished treatment and my vision re-stabilized! Just another "gentle reminder" that we are doing battle with the beast!

Yep, I first noticed it
Yep, I first noticed it during chemo. And since I still have blurry vision I'll be seeing the eye doc soon...just dreading yet another appointment (even tho it's 'only' the eye doc).

The taxol also made me have
The taxol also made me have this blurry vision and after chemo i seen my eye doc and he told me its from chemo...its been about 10 months since i finished chemo and still experience the blurry vision at times but it has improved but it hasnt gone completely away yet and im due for another eye exam here in the near future. Hope your vision returns to normal after your chemo like most have.0 -

Thank you for responding everyone! it's good to know that it's not all in my head lol.. I tend to be very in tune with my body and i always notice minor changes like that. its just nice to know theres probably a reason for it0 -

Yes, I wear glasses and toward the end of chemo, had to get new lenses because everything was blurry. I too, got new glasses not long before, but my vision changed so much that those lenses were useless....

I was having blurry vision, in the end had a prescription change. My eyes were also very dry and adding eye drops reallt helped too.0 -

Was blurry, now it's fine
My vision got blurry after the AC portion of chemo, when I was on Taxol and Herceptin. I mentioned it to my oncologist and she said it wasn't a side affect of chemo, but about a month after I finished chemo my eyes went back to my pre-chemo vision.0 -
Yes, I have had blurry
Yes, I have had blurry vision since starting Chemo back in Oct. My daughter is an Opthalmic Tech. and she says it is from the chemo.
