Have A Drink On Me
Everyone on this board has been AWESOME. And I will continue to lurk and offer support and advice where and when I can. It won't be much as my expertise is limited, but I will try.
I do have a small request. Around 11 am EST (or your time where ever you may be located) have a drink for me. Irish tradition is to have a shot to honor the memory, but I know many H&N can't take the burn. So even if it's a Pepsi or something out of the ordinary, that would be great.
Because it's not just for Patrick. It's a toast to you too.
Lots of Loves, Big Hugs, and Huge Thanks.

You got it April! My middle name is Colleen as I am half Irish! I will pour myself a cold one, no alcohol in it but it is not so bad lol & make a special toast to Patrick & then to us all!
God bless you April! You are one hell of a woman!

so Doug won't have to, although he did toast Patrick with me when we got the news he died. Sips of beer aren't as bad as bourbon, which is what he'd prefer. . . some day.
I've past the toast request on to some friends in Egypt (old drinking buddies) - more is always better.

Hi April! Will do with a glass of white Zinfandel. Take care of yourself. Karen
April,
To honor the memory of Patrick, one Irish coffee (minus the Jameson) was just consumed.
Glad you are staying on the site - have always enjoyed your posts.
Positive thoughts!

...but toasting Patrick and everyone who fights. Not Irish, German. No problem kicking one back.

I toasted Patrick with a smile.
Well, I am 12 hrs late, but I will put a shot of baileys and kaluha in my milk.
Cheers!0 -

Here's to you, Patrick! And April, and everyone else here who is or will be a survivor!
Of all the money e'er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm I've ever done,
Alas! it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit
To mem'ry now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Oh, all the comrades e'er I had,
They're sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts e'er I had,
They'd wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot,
That I should rise and you should not,
I gently rise and softly call,
Good night and joy be with you all.
If I had money enough to spend,
And leisure time to sit awhile,
There is a fair maid in this town,
That sorely has my heart beguiled.
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips,
I own she has my heart in thrall,
Then fill to me the parting glass,
Good night and joy be with you all.
Cheers!

a toast to you and Patrick
April,
I am a little late but will lift a glass and have a shot to honor Patrick and you as his caregiver....
Not sure when you will see this but hope you stay online and offer support and advice when and where you can.
I don't have a regular caregiver in my life but have many friends and long distance family trying to help me and above all I value the gift of a caregiver in the life of a cancer patient as we battle this beast that is cancer.
I know that Patrick was blessed to have you in his life.0 -
had a few myself
and I rarely drink. His service was good, better than I expected really. Thanks again to all of you and my hat's off to you all.0
