Warm fire in the fireplace
ALAS, the snow isn't supposed to drop more then the 500 foot level. We're practicably at sea level here (the ocean is about 5 or 6 blocks away), so no snow on my cactus.
So I'll have to travel to the hills tomorrow morning to see this wonder again!!! It was nice seeing it on the summit, but it didn't stick that day, but it's supposed to stick tonight.
I want to make a snow angel dang it!!!
But we felt the chill of the snow, even if it was only mentally, so my hubby built a fire in the fireplace. Ahhh, how sweet and cozy, to have the fire burning away, the logs with the flames prancing about. I really enjoyed that this evening. (Okay, so 40 may not be cold to a few people, but heck, that was really cold to us today, LOL).
Love to you all, and please make a snow angel for me if you can, in absentee for me would you?
Winter Marie

Nothin better than a warm
Nothin better than a warm fire! The previous owners of this house closed off the chimney of our fireplace...so at some point we'll have to see about getting that reopened. I miss having a fire. )o:
Supposed to get snow here Wednesday, so I'll give your request a good try...or most likely send my kids out to do it..I'll send you a pic. (o:

Hi neighbor
I am a bay area native too. I remember playing in the snow back in 1976, which was the only time I recall it snowing here in my lifetime. I only wish we had a real fireplace too, nothing like a warm fire on a cold night. At Christmastime we turned on that local TV station that broadcasts the yule log burning for a couple of hours, which is the only option for us condo dwellers.
Found a cool picture of the Golden Gate Bridge surrounded by snow capped mountains circa 1976.

I liked seeing the picture, because we just took a cruise that went underneath the GG bridge yesterday when my wife's best friend was visiting from Washington state. It was only $12.00 per person with a coupon, and we had so much fun doing it, but boy was it COLD!I made the mistake of not bringing some gloves, and I nearly died when the water got rough and I had to grab the cold railing on the ship with my neuropathy ridden hands. I will NEVER forget to carry gloves with me again lol.0 -

Wow, what a lot of snow!!! Oh My, the cold, and your hands, yep, one tends to forget the cold here except when you suffer with that dang neuropathy!!! Sorry you didn't have the gloves.
I enjoyed the pictures. Are you San Jose, or San Fran?

Snow Snow Snow!
Oh Winter... do I have to come over and slap you silly?? All this talk of snow.... Vancouver is like the California of Canada. We never get snow so if/when it happens, it sends a couple million people into a tail spin. People here do not know how to drive in snow. And yes, we do have palm trees up here... I know that's hard to believe. When non-Canadians think of Canada they think of majestic snow covered mountains (yes, we have those too), snow on the ground 9 months of the year (wrong) and out in the country people live in igloos (hehehe... I don't think even the eskimos up north live in igloos anymore, other than at their tourist attractions)
So, here I am trying to get motivated... and what's happening outside?? It's SNOWING!! So far, it hasn't started accumulating yet and it better not! I have a date with two guys this afternoon ... we are going to an early movie and then out for dinner! If the snow starts accumulating and getting ugly, we might have to postpone our date... which means for at least 2 weeks or longer because Tuesday is Chemo Tuesday... and I'm worried that the side affects will be as bad as the first go round.

Well, send the darn snow over here!!! My future daughter-in-law is ticked at my son right now, because they stayed here last night, and at her mom's house they have it..... yes, they have snow, just 3 short miles from here.
Hoping no accumulation for you!!!
