Hi,
I had both of my thyroid removed on Feb 7 and is doing very well. I am back to work and now having this stiffness on my neck and now i am becoming hoarse. Is this common. My job entail lots of speaking. Thanks

Yes, this is normal. You will get your voice back, maybe not the same as it was, but not quite as hoarse. For the neck stiffness you can take Ibuprofen (name brand Motrin) if you are not on blood thinners. It's an over the counter pain medication and anti-inflammatory. Check with your doctor before taking to make sure it's okay to take with any other medications you are taking. I know it's not a problem with Synthroid (levothyroxine etc). But, since I don't know your medical history it's best to be sure it's okay with the doctor if you have never taken it before. Dosing is up to 800 mg's every eight hours. No more than 2400 mg's per day. Some doctors say that 600 mg's is enough. You should be feeling better soon. I started feeling much better about six weeks after my TT.
