Dad Lost His Battle
It's with great sadness that I have to inform you that my dad lost his battle last night about 12:30 A.M.
It's been a horrific 4 days in the ER, ICU and Palliative Care. To make a long story short, he basically died from the tumor bleeding and his body not being able to clot the blood because his liver was shutting down.
It was a quick downward slide. Saturday morning he got up, ate a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, juice and milk and enjoyed watching golf on TV. By Sat. night he was in the ER vomiting massive amounts of blood and semi conscious. He was moved up to ICU were they stabilized him. Being that there was nothing more the doctor's could do, they transferred him to Palliative Care where he remained until his passing last night.
Thank you all for your support and prayers. They have been so helpful during this awful journey. Please continue to pray for my mom and I as the next few days of making decisions and arrangements will no doubt be a difficult.
I will continue to pray for you all and check the boards to see how you all are fairing.
Blessings,
Sally

Dear Sally,
So sorry about your Dad. It is amazing how quickly things can happen. I am glad he had those few hours of normal life esp watching the golf, know my mom in law lived for it. I will definitely keep you all in my prayers as you go thru these first days of planning and mourning. YOu certainly did your best by your Dad and your Mom, just so sorry it had to be this way. take care, hugs from afar,

Sorry
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so difficult , no matter how prepared we think we are and yes it's frightening how quickly things can take a turn for the worse. I pray that you find comfort and strength in the days ahead.

I am so sorry
Sally,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know the last month had been a challenge for your father and your family. With the pain from bone mets and the bleeding your Dad has had a tough time. He is now beyond that pain.
May God welcome your Dad into his loving arms and provide peace and support for you and your family during this difficult time.
With sadness,

MY Heartfelt Sympathies
Dearest Sally and Family
May I send to you my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss of your dad. May God now bless him and give him the peace he has needed for so long now. Isnt it amazing how he did so well just that morning, and then to go downhill so fast? My dad went downhill fast also. May they both rest in peace now. May you and your mom have the strength you will need at this most difficult time. Give yourselves at least a year or more to mourn and grieve. Please do come back and check in. I do so daily, it helps me to be able to help others. You take care of yourselves.

Thanks OlyaArchTB said:I am so sorry
I was away for few days and could not check messages. I am so sorry to get this news. I am sure you, the family and the doctors did everything possible. It is a terrible disease and it is heartbreaking to loose the battle. How are you holding on?
Olya
I'm doing as well as could be expected I guess. I think I'm still in shock to some extent. The four days in the hospital seem like a blur and everything happened so fast.
His funeral isn't until Wed. I'm sure it will be more "real" then. The whole thing is just so sad. However, though my heart is heavy, I have a strong faith in Jesus and he is carrying me through it:)

Losing a parent is something most all of us will face. Whether it's due to a sudden occurrence or due to something like this, it is still devastating.
Please accept my most sincere sympathy and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

so sorry
Sally---I am so sorry to read your post about your dad. I am still shocked by losses to this cancer--we now are "family" and it hurts every time we read a post where someone was lost. I am thankful he is no longer suffering, but know that you and the family will be for some time to come. Know that you are not alone.... I wish I could do more than pray at times like these...
