i am recovering from a bilateral mastectomy with snb, of whichi have substantial pain from nerve damage and nerve pain and am on gabapentin as well as vicadin until the gaba picks up. i am soooo hoping htat i will be able to make my wonderful bf the oreo cookie chocalte chip cheesecake i found a recipe for!!! cross your fingers ladies that i can do it!!! (yeah, i have that much pain and that much limited ROM yet. dont worry, breast surgeon is keeping an eye on me and doing an awesome job).and this weekend he would love for me to make my homemade ham gravy for him this weekend!!!0 -

I'm having a few lady
I'm having a few lady friends over Monday morning for tea and coffee and we will discuss "Love" and what it really means to each of us. I've also printed some bible verses that speak of "Agape Love".
I made some flourless chocolate individual heart shaped cakes, and will serve strawberries and cool whip to go along with the chocolate cakes and dark chocolate heart shaped candies. I made heart shaped pink iridescent earrings for each gal and we will celebrate and enjoy each other's company as we share friendship and love.
So now I'm forced to get my butt in gear and do some dusting, straightening, and mopping. That is the downside, however an upside is that I have the energy to do it.
Hubby and I havent discussed if we will do anything, but that's ok because we have shared love and the ups and downs of life for 38 years. Happy Early Valentines Day to all my Loving Pink Sisters.0 -

Valentine's Day is the one
Valentine's Day is the one "holiday" that doesn't interest me at all~ I find myself muting the onslaught of commercials designed to "guilt" men into buying diamonds or heart shaped boxes of chocolate and the like. I am not even sure WHY I feel this way; I am married to a loving, generous, romantic man who is crazy about me...but I feel positively nothing but discomfort about an actual day set aside to compel romanticism! It just seems so contrived~ I don't buy anything for Reggie and doubt he has anything for me. If he did, it would be a silly Hoops and YoYo talking card from the Hallmark store which would truly make me laugh~ I do adore Hoops and Yoyo! If Reggie asked if I wanted to go out to dinner, he already knows I would kindly decline...much nicer to just have us in the kitchen cooking dinner together and then watching an old movie or something. Now THAT'S romantic! Possibly I would light candles...LOL
So no...we have nothing planned!
But that's jut me!

Hmmm...
We talked a little about it and decided to go out for a nice lunch at some new restaurant--somewhere that we have never tried and skip the hassle of dinner reservations. I am so glad my sweet Dave is home with me right now and can actually eat out at lunch! He works overseas and is only home every other month so he got here in time for my first chemo and then will be here for my second one and then leaves 5 days later. He is being so sweet to me and has really stepped it up this month --we will celebrate 40 years of marriage in August. Can't believe that really!
Oh funny thing...he bought me a box of chocolate covered cherries--I know, I know ..lots of people hate them but I just love them, however he hid them in the house and my little dog discovered them while we were out and ate every last one of them!!!

I am celebrating early
by treating myself to a ballet tomorrow.
Since monday, I will be very busy first thing in the morning, it's time
for a lovely radioactive injection and then I get to spend 30-40 minutes
in a tube ( I have to admit, usually cursing under my breath), I think they
call this a PET scan (;
Then off to work and after meet my mortgage counselor to chase my
dream. So it's a pretty full day.
Hope you will all be showered with love in the form of chocolated, flowers
and Champagne in candle light!!

Valentine's Day is not just another holiday, it is the one day that you can celebrate your love for each other. Ofcourse, you do this everyday, whether a holiday or not, but, this should be special.
We went out to eat last night at a darling restaurant. It was so nice to be out together and just enjoying each other's company, just talking and laughing.
My hubby had gotten me a dozen beautiful pink roses with one white one earlier in the day. Loved them and love him!

Pete and I as well celebrated yesterday. Our daughter, Alexandra and her beau, Eric will be celebrating today, as Eric goes to College and works later Monday night. This is our daughters first 'real', or true ... Valentine's Day. I am enjoying every moment with Alexandra.
I choose to believe that Valentine's Day, is any day .. we share time, laughs and life together.

We're going to a movie Monday and then a late dinner. Kind of like 2 Saturday nights in one week. LOL Can't wait!
