Ok can cancer spread to your hand? I know I'm being ott. Just really need to share with my online family. I got bitten by my dog on my left hand back in September of last year. Two months later a lump appeared, doctor said it was a gangolin cyst. Three doctors have felt it recently and said it did not feel like a cyst and it was bony. Had to have my hand xrayed to rule out anything untoward, wont get results for a week or so. Last day or so it seems to be bigger. Read that tumours on hands are usually benign, but I cant stop thinking what if it's something that's spread. I don't know, have my ct scan rescheduled for the 14th March, maybe stressed over that and my divorce is turning nasty. I dont know, thank you for letting me ramble.

Hugss
Sonia

****Got my xray results in, it's just a cyst! My online family know more then the doctors do. :-))) Now to get a bible, hummmm. ;-) Just got to get my ct scan out of the way on the 14th March, hoping that will be clear. Not cancer related but as my online family know been waiting for divorce papers. Finally got them, hard to do it, but they have been signed. All will be finalised in six to seven months. Just got to try and move forward and not dwell, I'm sure my online family will give me the kick I need if I do ;-) Luv ya all*******

    Sonia:
I have never heard of cc going to the hand. Take a deep breath. With your scans and everything else going on for you, your anxiety level must be sky high and your mind racing to strange places.

It is gonna be fine so stop worrying. If there is one thing cancer teaches us is that we have no control over what it does, we try our best though, so quit worrying, what will be will be.

Now go out and have some fun.

    Hi Sonia, you probably do
Hi Sonia, you probably do have a Ganglion Cyst...also known as a bible bump because in the old days people would burst them by taking a bible or other large book and hitting it squarely on top! Sonia, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS just in case. I realize you spend a fair amount of time on the computer so this could be the cause.

I had one about a year ago...it was rather hard but went away when I gave it a good whack! Do try not to worry (I know it's difficult). I have never heard of cancer spreading to the hand.

I'm sorry about you having to deal with the divorce business at this difficult time though it does seem to happen to many of us. I have been there too so if you want to PM me I'd be pleased to talk to you.

    Sending you warm, loving hugs!!

    Yes Sonia...Ganglion Cyst.........
A ganglion cyst has fingers that are like a vine in the fact that they encircle muscle, and cartilage tissue surrounding and wrapping their tentacles so that they can grow. They are very invasive and sometimes need to be surgically removed if they start to cause writing or hand flexibility or simply just hurt or unsightly... They do take a while to come back but if the whole cyst isn't removed and any part of the "fingerlings" remain behind it will reconstruct itself , normally taking up to a year to do...

Now, on the other hand if your dog bit you then it could be a simply calcium deposit encircling the infection that may be there from the dog bite...The body's self defense mechanism at its finest...You will be fine either way.........buzz

    Ganglion Cyst
LOL, I had one of those on my wrist about 25 years ago, it was annoying as heck and I had been told about hitting with a good hard book. I instead had surgery to have it removed. When I'm asked about surgeries at the doctors offices, I always say and a "ganglion cyst" removed and they always say "You had Gangrene??" And I have to repeat Ganglion to them, to which they reply "Ohhh", I guess they don't hear about ganglion cysts surgeries too much so their brains hear gangrene.
Sorry about the divorce taking so long, and hard to do, it'll be okay.

I had a that in my hand and it went away on it's own. I ran away when my mom tried to burst it with a bible.
