Ear cancer

my dad was having a lot of ear infections and kept taking antibiotics drops and it would go away and then come back. The doctor finally decided to go open him up and clean the infection out. The tissue he took out was sent to the lab and it came back positive for cancer cells.

This is what they diagnosed him with:

Final Diagnosis:
Mastoid contents, left, excision: Invasive keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma arising in association with high-grade intraepithelial dysplasia/carcinoma in situ

heard it is very rare and now he is freaked out. I have just been trying to see anyone else with the same diagnosis. He has a pet scan next week to check if god forbid it has spread elsewhere.

Anyone else gone through this? It's good to talk about it
