I’m 65 years old and a 61‑year survivor of childhood cancer. I don’t ask for tests to extend my life — I ask because what doctors learn from me now may prevent harm to the next survivor. My case is evidence, not a burden. Survivorship doesn’t end when treatment ends, and the late effects of early radiation are real. If sharing my experience helps even one survivor get better care, then it’s worth it.”
