Brain stem glioblastoma
Good day everyone, I am writing here to get help in treating brain stem glioblastoma for my partner (26). My boyfriend of 26 years has been diagnosed with brain stem glioblastoma and this is a brief summary about him:
- Diagnosis: brain stem glioblastoma diagnosed towards the end of 2024.
- Current treatment: includes temodar (temozolomide)
- Time since diagnosis - recently crossed the difficult 1 year mark.
- Current condition - Undergoing treatment and has been advised to avoid excessive stress and digital device usage.
- General health: always maintains a healthy lifestyle, exercises regularly, doesn't smoke or drink and avoids outside food.
We are from India. I am searching for options from USA medical centers and centers from other countries. I found that we need to become an international patient and travel there to get any such help or consultation of any sort, based on few reply mails from US medical centers. If anyone knows any doctor who will be ready to travel here or help with diagnosis or second opinion of any sort would be of great help. I am also searching for financial assistance programs too. I am unable to find much information online and I have mailed to different hospitals and foundations abroad.
I read about many survivor stories and I wish to make sure my partner gets good treatment too. He is a fighter and has maintained his health well all through these years. He is such a kind soul helping everyone around. It is heartbreaking that he doesn't get to enjoy life that much.
Some would be having good doctor friends to help out during these times and we don't know anyone as such right now to help out. It would be of great help to get any help from anyone.
Thank you for taking time to read my message.
Have a good day everyone. Take care!

Hi Staronearth,
Thank you for reaching out to the Cancer Survivors Network (CSN). It sounds like a very emotional time for you and your partner. I must point out as a non-profit organization, the Society does not provide referrals or recommendations to doctors or hospitals as we must remain unbiased. You may want to reach out to a cancer society within your country to see if they can help. The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) offers an international directory of member cancer institutes and organizations through their website at https://www.uicc.org/membership.
Thank you,
KenCSN Support Team
