15 years on, still kicking. Had a feeding tube placed in 2017, doing pretty much anything I want
Just stopping in for nostalgia and to encourage all who are in this club to keep advocating for yourself, don't be shy to push for your care and what you need... and to remember, keeping each other in our pockets of prayers and positive mojo (I'm partial to prayer) keeps us grounded.
When I was dx, my kids were aged 1-13... that was 15 years ago. Now I have two firefighters, an LPN and a Marine... and my 15 year old is still home with me, who I homeschool. .... and a little rescue pup who is my new world.
I've got no complaints.

A fantastic survivor's story.
A wonderful family.
I bet your family was the best support and quite an inspiration to never give up.
Thanks for the post and the pictures, and your survivor's story. It is a great uplift to my day.
Your story is one that will inspire others in their cancer battle.
Agreed on the prayer, pray, pray, pray.
Every step we take is a step of faith.
Wishing You The Best
Take Care, God Bless

Great post, Tim.
I went thru tx in early-2009 and got my FT installed in August of 2019 due to Rad damage to the top 1/3 of my esophagus. Frequently spit to avoid pneumonia via aspiration, and truly loathe the seemingly constant bombardment of restaurant commercials on tv that show what I can't eat, but I lived to bury my Sister and Mom, and was the one who helped my Dad every day over the last 5+-years of his 99-1/2 year life- which was the greatest Honor of my life. And to read and see what you've got to experience, post C tx…Life is good.

Well lookie there…, it's the old timers club… LOL.
Good hearing from you both, though I see Tim on FB, and Matt gives me a holler during the Christmas Season.
Not many of us arounf from back in the old days (years of 2009 to present). We've definitely lost a few along the way, but some of us are still kickin it, and doing well.
Unfortunatley I received an email that all of this history is going to be lost in a month or so as they're shutting down the forum. That sure is a hard pill to swallow, even though I'm rsarely on here anymore.
Back in the day, when Greta was one of the CSN over lookers and Admin types. They (American Cancer Society) even flew myself, and 5 - 6 others up to Atlanta HQ for a mini think tank on how to make the site better. It was an awesome gesture.
This place was a moment in time that was a lifeline and safe place for many. No topic was off limits, no matter what you were going through, someone had already been there and was willing to share.
It's been great my friends, many of you will be in my heart forever, and as Tim says, you're in my pocket.
~John
