Intimacy after treatment

I am really struggling with having intimacy with my husband. It hurts so bad. It is causing problems in our marriage. I was wondering if anyone could offer me guidance, support and suggestions. I completed treatment last September.

My husband is very frustrated with our sex life. I have started counseling. It has always been a big part of our relationship. I know it’s hard for him but my body is just not the same. I just desire grace and compassion!

My partner is feeling really discouraged about the changes in our relationship, especially around emotional and physical closeness. I’ve started counseling because I truly want things to get better and I know this is a meaningful part of our connection. Starting counseling is a powerful step healing isn’t just physical, and you deserve support for every part of you. You’re not alone in this, even when it feels incredibly isolating. I finished treatments last September. I also had breast cancer in 1999 and had a stem cell transplant. Since I am a post transplant patient they had to be careful with my treatment protocol

I never had surgery for the anal cancer. The radiation melted the tumor. It is gone!
