Bosniak 3 cyst and a lung nodule

Hello everyone!
This is a group I never ever thought I would be posting in, but here I am.

I was diagnosed with a Bosniak 3 cyst, highly suspicious of renal cell carcinoma at the end of December.

I have seen 1 specialist who really dismissed a lot of my worries but said I did need surgery. I agree. I’m waiting for a second opinion from one of the best surgeons around me so I can hopefully get surgery with him.

I am now TERRIFIED (that’s an understatement) even more now because they ordered a chest CT scan - expecting to see nothing. But there is one 3 mm right apical nodule present. It says on my results statistically speaking it’s likely benign, but with everything I’m going through I am truly spiraling.

I am only 32 years old, very overweight from PCOS, have Crohn’s disease, PVCs, high blood pressure, etc. so dealing with this as well has been very hard for me. Especially because I have 2 young kids who are my entire world.

Any positive stories, experiences, etc. would be greatly appreciated right now. I’m trying to be okay, but I truly am not.

Thank you everyone! 🙏

My husband had RCC for 13 yrs died in July. Now they tell me I have a kidney mass they strongly believe is Cancer. My husband showed me the best way to get through this very frightening cancer thing. After some tears he continued each day as if nothing was different, kept living his life, was happy when not real ill. He said shot happens. The 13 yrs we had we’re not just a nightmare they were special times around alot of hardship. For me whatever is gonna happen its happening wether I’m freaked out scared or I’m accepting and living my life while handling my cancer. Because I got to see how he did it I choose that because the other choices suck. My heart is w you

Hello operagirl, I am sorry to hear about your situation. first of all take it one day at a time.. trying to think to far forward will not help you. considering you already have pre exiting problems its important that you get those controlled as much as possible. high BP and such can become a bigger issue regarding treatment. eat healthy as you can and flee from to much sugars if you are consuming any. tumors love sugar so you obviously want to starve the tumors. there are positive stories with people who have had cancer but keep in mind not all cases are the same and effectiveness of treatment varies from person to person. communicate closely with your doctors, ask questions as well as do research on your own. I am a current stage 4 cancer patient and understand how exhausting everything can be. I hope you have a good support group with you healthcare , family, friends, ECT.. God bless you..
