Hi I was just recently diagnosed with glioblastoma after having a craniotomy to remove a mass that was life threatening on my occipital lobe and spent 8 days in icu. I have two other masses, one on my frontal lobe and one midbrain. I am getting ready to see the radiation oncologist on wed (dec 16) and as soon as my chemo arrives I will begin gliostine and temodar duo. I am super nervous and not sure how to prepare. I have been drinking tons of ensure with protein. I am also a breast cancer survivor since 2012 and at first the dr thought it had returned and metastaticized, which was not the case afyer pathology results. I do not wanna die yet. I have pets and a husband that I do not want to grieve or suffer. Any tips on how to prepare, survive and thrive during and after this?

Hello, I know it's been two months since your post, but I was recently diagnosed with GBM as well. I went in to remove a lesion which was thought to be a low grade tumor. I don't have an answer for you since I am just about go start radiation and chemo. I have the same fears you do, as I have a preschooler and wife and I'm the sole income provider.

I know this isn't helpful to your specific question, but I just wanted to send positive thoughts and support your way. I hope you are doing well with your treaments. Stay strong and let's get through this together for our loved ones.

You Got this girl! I took Temodar, then did the Temodar + Optune combo until my second brain surgery. My Medical Oncologist was about to put me on a Triple Chemo combo (which included Gliostine), but stopped short when my scans started showing Remission. So you will get through this girl. If I can, you can too.

Tips: Be strict with your diet. Limit/absolutely no added sugar till the end of Chemo. Eat unprocessed whole foods as much as possible- fruits, veggies, fish/chicken. Keep up with a regular exercise regiment whenever possible. Because Chemo will demand alot from you. And listen to your body.
