  • 20251206_090953.jpg My sister has stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver and has been undergoing chemotherapy for about 8 sessions. After 3 sessions, the masses in her liver shrank, but later, according to the CT scan results, the volume of the masses in her liver has not decreased any more, and the chemotherapy has caused severe physical weakness. Do you think it would be better if she stopped chemotherapy?

    • When my sister gave birth to her baby 4 months ago, we noticed a lump in her liver.

I’m really sorry your sister is going through this and that you’re having to watch her struggle. When chemo stops shrinking the tumors and starts causing severe weakness, it’s completely understandable to wonder if continuing is the right choice. But this is a decision only her medical team can safely guide, because they know her full health picture.

What you can do is ask her oncologist about options: changing the chemo, adjusting the dose, switching to a different treatment, or taking a break to let her regain strength. You’re asking the right questions out of love and she’s lucky to have you by her side.
