Moms breast cancer question
Hi all. My mom is 79 years old. YES, 79 years old. She found out she had breast cancer about a year and a half ago. They said stage 2 at the time. She got put on letrozole right away, and took it for about 9 months before any surgery. Rhey said she'll be taking it for 7-10 years. She had a bilateral mastectomy about May of this year. She just completed 6 sessions of chemo, and just had her appt with the radiation doctor. She's been told that she has 29 lymph nodes that need radiation, and they're doing 6 weeks of radiation, then they're going to do scans again. She MAY need to go through chemo and radiation again.... So far, she's going through it like a trooper, but I'm concerned. Nobody's said anything about her prognosis (or she's not telling me). She's told me she's stage 3B, grade 3. I just need some insight. Has anybody had this stage or number of lymph node involvement?
