Abraxane and herceptin perjeta
hi everyone , my mother has stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to the bones and liver. The doctor started abraxane (weekly) with herceptin/perjeta (every three weeks) treatment. Any advice regarding this? How to tolerate the side effects? She's been on 1 dose now but she's been having stomach issues (diarrhea, stomachache) also fatigue (little bit). Could you please advise us on how to manage? Also if she feels weak, is it okay to skip one dose to give her body a break?

Hi, Sorry your mother has to deal with this, I have a similar diagnosis, although they say it's not in my bones yet, I was stage 4 when I got diagnosed last year. I had 6 rounds of taxol, something else and herceptin/perjeta, now I'm off the hard chemo thank goodness, but still on the herceptin/perjeta every three weeks. I have been really careful with my diet, no gluten, mostly food that is not packaged, all natural. I really like making what I think are close to a pina colada, I use a small smoothie blender, adding microgreens, frozen pineapple, spoonful of maple syrup and almond or coconut milk. I make those about 2-3 per day and I never have diarrhea, I actually feel amazing after I have one, it sort of helps when I get hot flashes too! And of course, really thick lotions or creams for dry feet feels a lot better, a foot massage would probably be really appreciated too. I hope it helps to get some other ideas.

I have been getting herceptin/perjeta for the past nine months. When I started treatment, I had cancer in my bones also. I drink 2 oz of aloe juice every morning sometimes at night too. It has helped to control the diarrhea. I also take some supplements to help flush my liver and keep it clean.
