2nd Lupron shot

in Prostate Cancer #1

So, I got my 2nd 6 month lupron shot and am already feeling the effects

My knees are now an issue. I got out of bed last night and almost fell over when left one wanted to give out. Also, my right hamstring is sore

Just another thing to know and try to work around

Any suggestions on what I can take OTC to counter these issues

Any advise would be appreciated

    I feel your pain @Submariner682

    I found that Aleve (twice a day) helped with the overall pain from Lupron. I used roll-on Aspercreme for my achy knees, and still need it occasionally almost two years after my last Lupron shot. My knee pain became so disabling that I had to have physical therapy on a couple of occasions. It was helpful but at a $35 copay per visit it gets pretty expensive.

    I was supposed to have a third 6 month Lupron shot but refused it due to the nasty side effects. It took almost a year for my testosterone to start recovering. I have my next bloodwork for PSA and Testosterone scheduled for mid October. I'm hoping the PSA remains undetectable and that the Testosterone has continued to increase. I feel that it has because my muscle tone is improving and my libido has begun to recover. It's been like going through puberty for a second time ๐Ÿ™„

    Thanks. Iโ€™m taking 3 ibuprofen three times a day. Seems to help. I use Super Blue Stuff as a rub on. Have for years for muscle aches

    I already told my urologist no 3rd shot

    Now I have a year to go before I get back to normal
