Need help for my mother's Cholangiocarcinoma
I am posting on behalf of my mother. She is 63 years old and was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) 20 months back. When we detected it, the cancer had already spread a lot. She underwent whipples surgery, followed by 6 cycles of Gemcitabine + Capecitabine. Then another 15 rounds of radiation. We thought that would be it but the cancer spread. So we did 6 cycles of Gemcitabine + Cisplatin + Durvalumab (immunotherapy) at first the results were good but the last scan showed the cancer has spread again, affecting portal veins and more of the liver.
I am running out of options for her treatment, I am going to do the Dendritic Cell Vaccine for here, the first vial comes next week. I know it's results are mixed but at least it's some treatment with minimal side effects. Also since I live in India, we are planning to do some Tibetan herbal medicine, again not sure if it works.
I am writing this post since, I am at a dead end, is there any other for of treatment i could pursue, maybe something i missed, since it's not available in India. Read about Ivermectin and Fenbendazole but that I am unsure off, since there doesn't seem to be a proper regime for it, or at least i haven't come across any.
I am reaching out to whoever sees this or can guide me further as to what i can do in her case, though I know the possibility of her survival beyond the next 8 months is bleak, but if there is a medication or treatment I am missing I don't mind pursuing it. Thanks in advance .
P.S. there is TP53 gene mutation and HER2 negative

Hi - I am sorry to hear about your mother and unfortunately I can relate to this. My mother was also diagnosed with Bile duct cancer that has spread in her liver and bones. We are doing gemcitabine and Capecitabine at this time. I wanted to reach out to you for few things
- Would you mind sharing the oncologist name you are working with ? We seem to run into walls too often that the doctors are not able to suggest next steps as effectively as I would like to.
- Did you happen to go to Tibetan route ? My brother went and he was able to bring medicine for my mother but she just started 2 days back. We will know in a month if that’s of any help. I am happy to share any details if you need.
- Lastly, we have been unsuccessful in her Ngs testing twice, sample being low quality. If you think you are blessed with a good oncologist, please share that.
I wish you all the best in this fight for your mother’s life. And hope you are able to make the best decision in your mom’s best interest.
Thankyou in advance.
