As a gay man that just finished chemo/radiation treatment for anal cancer. I am scared of having anal sex. Any other gay men that have gone through anal cancer treatment successfully but scared to have anal sex? I know it will be painful but will it be painful the whole time during sex? Will anal sex be pleasurable again? Any thoughts, experiences, or suggestions will be helpful.

I am sorry you are also going through this anal cancer journey. I am a straight female and was very scared to try sex again. One of my drs told me to take it easy and use lots of lube. Unfortunately, you will probably always have to use lots of lube going forward.

For females they tell us to buy a box of dilators that come in different sizes. Maybe try the smallest ones first just to test things out. As a female our vaginal area shrinks from radiation, so I assume the other area also shrinks Maybe ask your drs if this would be a good idea to try first
