CAPEOX v. FOLFOXIRI - comparisons?
I was diagnosed with T4bN1bG2M1 colon cancer with perineural involvement in 2023. RO colon surgery followed by 8 cycles of CAPEOX. Lung met that had remained stable during chemo but started growing again was removed this March because it appeared to be solitary, followed by a swift recovery. We are only 3 months later and a post-surgery CT shows new metastases to abdominal lymph node and peritoneal carcinomatosis (2 nodules). I am (relatively) young and very healthy with no symptoms right now, so they are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at this in hopes of still making me a candidate for CRS/HIPEC. So my questions are, first step is FOLFOXIRI starting July 1st. I tolerated the CAPEOX pretty well overall. Anyone done both CAPEOX and FOLFOXIRI and can tell me how much worse it's going to be this time around? They might add additional drugs or immunotherapies depending on the results of my tumor mutation typing when it comes back. Also, has anyone done the CRS/HIPEC and want to weigh in? Thanks so much. Having a hard time wrapping my brain around this.
