Looking for personal support or to connect with someone who has had papillary thyroid cancer.
Hi, my name is April. I had a complete Thyroidectomy in 2006 for metastatic papillary thyroid cancer. I was 21 years old at the time. I had my next surgery in 2007 and my last one is 2012 to remove more lymph nodes. I was hoping to find someone I could talk to, in person, over the phone and looking for support. I was never really set up for any support after my cancer and still don't have anyone I can talk to about this as my family doesn't understand and I don't know anyone who has had thyroid cancer.

Hi April: I'm praying for you. Cancer hasn't a care in the world about who it affects. You're way to young to have to deal with this, especially without support. I encourage you to reach out to our American Cancer Society support system to find as many avenues of support as necessary to get you through this difficult time in your life. I'm in the same boat with regard to cancer support so hopefully both of us will discover helpful souls who will give us guidance and support.

Dear April: I'm trying to respond to your messages that pop up in my Gmail box. Every time I click to respond, the page opens up and sez I don't have permission to access the message. Sent an inquiry to the IT folks and no answer from them. How can I send you my phone number without it being seen in the open? I'd really like to talk with you; we're in the same boat, might as well share oars eh? Try and stay happy if you can. If you can't perhaps we can help each other to feel better. Concurrent health issues are really doing a number on my mental health having to deal with Complex PTSD, MDD and GAD. A new friend would be good for you and me. As soon as we can figure out how to exchange personal information we can start talking. Really looking forward to this! ~Bill Shippen
