Breast cac

I'm the the dad, 64.

My daughter, 42, was diagnosed with Stage 2, Grade 3, NER+, ductile carcinoma in one breast. Chemo will start in 3 weeks. Why the wait? Is this normal? Does this put her at further risk, having to wait for treatment (abnormal, aggressive cells I was told)?

Thank you.

i had lobular breast cancer stage 1b, 7 years ago, am currently in remission. i have not been able to calm down and relax since that time. i see psyc who has tried me on many meds. and a therapist. (men). i feel depressed get stomach aches. the drs want to help me but even writing this message gives me stomach ache. I want to get better. was anyone feeling like me and got better. my dr said it has nothing to do with bc. I feel i have lost 7 years with stomach ache etc. No one wants to talk to me, Has anyone seen a psycho oncologist with a lot of experience? Are they better than regular oncologists. my support group is very small. most women i know who had bc never went to support groups or psyc. and are doing ok. i tried Dbt and TMS. Why am i so different and why can’t i pull myself out of this and enjoy life? some sites say they can help but they don’t have that kind of specialist here. i go to bible classes and mental health support groups. i feel crappy most of the time with stomach pain - had endo and colon tests they said just a little gastritis or diverticulitis. i just want to feel better.l

Although HER2 positive breast cancer is an aggressive cancer a 3 week wait to start chemotherapy is not unusual. She will need to have a port put in, hopefully a week or so ahead of the start of chemo, and the Cancer Center will need to coordinate with the infusion center. I have HER2 positive and didn't start my chemo for almost 2 months because I had to get dental issues taken care of before I could start. It didn't affect my treatment.

As a side note, while it seems you're a concerned father, this is your daughter's journey and I would suggest that she join HER2 positive cancer groups on Facebook for support, or a local support group for breast cancer. Also, ignore the posts on alternative treatments like Ivermectin since there's been absolutely no scientific studies nor data supporting it treats or cures cancer.
