Side effects of chemo

Stage 4/gleason 9/metastatic prostate cancer. Mets in 6 lymph nodes and 2 in bones.
Due to genetic testing results my Oncologist went right to a triple blast of dartulimide/doxitaxel/carbitol for 7 treatments, along with Zuniga/Eliguard. I was 4 treatments in before the side effects got to me. Pretty bad nausea and the ever popular metallic tasting food. Dropped 20 lbs by the end of treatment. My savior? Hot salsa and chips…it got my taste buds past the metallic taste.

2 months after the end of chemo, I developed neuropathy in both feet and my right hand. I’m fooling around with Gaboplentin dosage, but haven’t found the right combo. My Palliative care np wants to try medical cannabis oil to see if that helps. I’m leary for two points…it’s a state run program and therefore expensive and not covered by insurance. Also I’m subject to drug testing at work and even if I’m medically certified, I foresee issues at work.

Has anyone had experience with neuropathy and/or CBD oil

    Hi,

CBD oil is not the same as THC. Don’t know how that would test in a drug screen but if you have a medical prescription and don’t operate dangerous machinery your employer might be ok with it. I used CBD oil on my shoulder and it does seem to help. I bought my CBD oil at the local grocery store. Sorry about your chemo experience, from talking to people who have gone through it, its not fun. Hopefully your medical profession doctors can help……..
