I was under the impression they would wait 3 months to do a PSA. But, I just got a text from my urologist to get it done at 30 days

That Sound right to everyone??

Have a Great day 🚜🐝🚜

You had surgery 12/8/23, and more recently, salvage radiation therapy.

I don't know what the wait time is for a PSA after salvage radiation. Are you also on 'hormone therapy'?

they gave me a hormone shot same time I started the radiation treatment. None since then. How long do they last?

'Hormone shots' come in several 'flavors'; 1 month, 3 months and 6 months are common. Do find out what you got.

i believe 6 weeks is the norm but if it was contained to the prostate, and the pathology port came back clean by all reasonable doubt cancer is gone so it should be zero. It’s up to you.

My first PSA was within a month of surgery. I think they want to establish a baseline.

My first follow-up PSA test was eight weeks after surgery. It wasn't a good result (0.53).

Please note that this thread is about the timing for doing a PSA test long after surgery.
