Managing Bone Health Post-Cancer Treatment: Looking for Tips
Hello all,
I'm wondering if anyone here has had bone health problems after cancer treatment. I was diagnosed with cancer a few years back, and my treatment went well, but recently I have been experiencing some pain in my bones and joints, particularly in my legs and lower back.
I know that chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments for cancer may, on occasion, weaken bone, but I have no idea what to do about it to control or stop it from occurring further. I am also concerned about fracture risk or osteoporosis, considering I'm already past my 40s.
I came across this website:https://csn.cancer.org/cissp-certification/discussion/324382/some-tips-from-csn#latest but still seeking for advice.
Has anyone experienced anything like that? Any recommendations you have for building bone density after treatment? I've heard exercise, calcium, and vitamin D, but I'm not sure how to work that into my daily life safely. Any suggestions for managing bone pain or keeping bones healthy would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support and any information you can provide!
Best,
michaelcarlos
