zejula question
Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I am on zejula for maintenance after Ovarian stage 2b diagnosis, surgery and 6 rounds of chemo.I began Zejula in fall 200 but was hospitalized for low platelets. Now and on 100mg and tolerating accept for sleep issues. I take it at 8 pm. Does anyone take their dose in the morning? I was wondering if I should try that.
Thank you

Hello and welcome to the CSN. I've been here for several years in regard to thyroid cancer, but happened to stumble upon your post. I've long been suspicious about the frequency with which physicians prescribe medication, especially ones considered "maintenance" drugs like the one you're using. I'm not sure how the efficacy of such meds is determined. It's like using elephant repellant in my New Jersey back yard and insisting it must be working because I have yet to see a single elephant since I started using it. If you haven't already found the answer to your question, the Zujula website (https://zejula.com/risks-and-side-effects/) does indicate insomnia is, or can be, a side effect. I'm no doctor, but I consistently take any prescription medication, as well as supplements, in the morning to minimize the possibility of sleeplessness or related disorders. I'd say it's worth trying dosing in the morning and seeing what happened. It couldn't hurt to experiment, could it? Best wishes, and thanks again for sharing. I hope you get more comments soon! —Bill

I am not sure if wrwoolley1 is a physician or not, but I would recommend talking to your doctor's office, tell them what is going on, and asking them about changing any dosing instructions. Clinical trials actually have determined the current protocols, but everyone is different and things have been tweaked for individuals based on side effects outside of that. Again, it should include medical authorities. Any advice outside of that is irresponsible.
I hope you find some relief soon.

Agreed. My post clearly specifies, "I'm no doctor…"
