Hello,

I'm new here. I do not know where to begin. Last year, I did my pap smear, and it came back abnormal. I also did a family cancer screening that showed if I had a family history of cancer. That came back positive, and it stated that I had the BRIP1 gene, which is a higher chance of getting ovarian cancer, and I also had a slightly higher chance of breast cancer. in 2023, I had a teratoma removed, which was obstructing my ovary and fallopian tube, and sitting by my kidney, it ruptured, and I felt as if I was dying. they removed it (12cm). In 2023, the latter part, I started to get my cycles every two weeks and have continued to do so up until the present. I have gotten CT scans, MRIs, and iron infusions for over a year and switched GYN, who did an ultrasound with endometrial assistance because she had seen a polyp in my uterus. The GYN Dr received the results back but could not get past the cervix. the pathologist wrote level 1-3grade lesions/ HPV16. The GYN Dr has now transferred me to an Oncologist Dr who still has not told me if it is cancer or not, so I go into surgery in May, they will do a D&C Hysteroscopy with Conization (Cone Biopsy) where they cut all the lesions off, and send in the polyp for more testing for the uterus. I'm 40 years old and a single mother of 6, and no one is telling me anything. The Oncology Dr stated that if they found cancer in the uterus, then I would have to get another surgery, and they think that I should leave my last ovary up there as much as I can if till about 50 because of the BRIP1 gene. I don't have people I can talk to about any of this because I feel no one understands. Thank You for reading, and praying for you all. lots of virtual hugs.

Hey CheWill, I am a visitor from the Uterine/Endometrial cancer board, and I am sorry that it has been about a month since you posted. I am not sure if you have had the tests done or not, but hope it went ok.

I would invite you over to the Uterine/Endometrial cancer page if you find you are having to deal with that type of gyn cancer. While that page can be a little quite, this one is very quite unfortunately.
