Cyst has grown slightly over the past 6 months, other medical issues

Hello,
Last September I was diagnoised with a 3.5mm cyst. Had a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA-125 (number was 8). Had another ultrasound 5 weeks later, was diagnosed as a simple cyst.

I have had several CT scans over the past several months and the cyst is now 4.2mm

In February, had an ileostomy. Seeing my gynecologist today-she is ordering another ultrasound and a C-125.
If the results show that a biopsy and ovary removal is indicated, does anyone here have experience with an ileostomy? Also, what about requesting a biopsy and subsequent removal of the ovaries if the cyst turns out not to be cancer.

Thank you

Hi there, I hope you’re feeling well. My first question is : are you of childbearing age? If not, my advice is to get a total hysterectomy for prevention from ovarian cancer. I had a similar situation like you and because I was younger back then my gynecologist did not want to do a hysterectomy, 40 years later I ended up with stage 2A ovarian cancer that could have been prevented if I had a hysterectomy. I had the surgery in 2021 then I had a recurrence in 1 year, 2022 then had another surgery with a total of 2 year’s worth of chemo. I went through a lot but will be in 3 years remission in October. Do ask your gynecologist recommendation, they have a lot of experience in situations like this. Keep the faith and take good care. I’ll pop in once in a while to chat.
