Week 6 of 7 SRT complete

Week 6 and 7 Iโm told they are concentrating on prostate bed. Only difference is about 3 hours after treatment, I run out of gas and need a 1-2 hour nap
Still on same boring diet ๐ฉ. No diarrhea. Canโt wait for that first pizza a month from now ๐๐
hope everyone has a GREAT weekend I still have 3 more acres of grass to cut up on the hillside ๐๐๐

The utter fatigue is totally normal for the process that you are going through. It took me about 3 weeks into the treatment, before I hit the fatigue wall. This wall will remain there for a few months after you stop treatment. I recommend listening to your body and taking naps when it tells you to, and you will come out the other side of this fatigue tunnel.

I feel your pain! I just finished week 7 of 9 and fatigue is a bosom buddy, sadly. Sometimes my mornings are pretty good but afternoons and evenings all my tires are flat. I'm also in my 4th month of taking Orgovyx, which I'm sure adds to the fatigue. All the best for your treatment outcomes!

Itโs Saturday. No rest on the farm. ๐๐๐ Just finished cutting 4 of 7 acres. Other 3 tomorrow if weather cooperates
Had to stop 3 times to use the bathroom ๐คฃ๐ณ๐คฃ
Time for a nap Iโm thinking
Last treatment (# 35) this coming Monday. ๐๐๐. Taking donuts in for the staff. Theyโve been awesome
Hope everyone is doing well and has a GREAT weekend

Hey Submariner,
Seven acres of grass! Why not let it grow back to nature and take a break from all that cutting? I have a little over one acre and I let half of it grow wild many years ago. Now I have a small forest out there and much less cutting. ๐ Anyhow, Congratulations on you're last treatment. I'm just starting week 5 of 8 and the fatigue is starting to take it's toll. ๐ I also wonder if it's the radiation or the Orgovyx and Abiraterone. Likely a bit of both. I'm still struggling with keeping my bladder full prior to daily treatments. ๐ Also starting to feel a bit of burning sensation after peeing. Bowels seem to not be affected much. It's all tolerable thus far, but I'm worrying it might get worse in these last 3 weeks. As far as diet goes, I ate fairly healthy before treatment and haven't had to change it up much. I believe my high fiber diet is helping. I still eat some pizza on Friday or Saturday nights but only with roasted red peppers, artichokes, and mushrooms. I'll bet that first slice will taste fantastic after waiting all this time. Are you going to have a beer with it? I cut out alcoholic beer and have been having one or two Non Alcoholic brews per week. Not quite the same but helps fill my desire for the real stuff. Keep us posted on how you're feeling as the weeks pass after your last treatment. I think I'll take your lead and take some bagels or donuts for my last treatment day. The Fox Chase Cancer Center staff where I'm going has been great as well. ๐

Until last night, I have abstained from alcohol since February 1st. Some friends and neighbors came over to sit out on our back porch on a beautiful evening ๐
From 4p to 9p, I would say I drank about 8ozs of Diplomatico Reserve on ice. Went to bed at 915p and woke up at 530a. Only thing I noticed is I woke up tired. So, right after 4 hrs of grass cutting I napped for 2 hrs ๐ด
Had the runs several times. Most likely the alcohol. So, I wonโt be drinking again for another month or so or longer ๐คฃ
Cutting grass is my brain dead time. Just watch for holes and ruts. My spine probably gets jiggled, jostled, and jammed around 60,000 times cutting that 7 acres on my commercial 60โ Hustler. Looking at a full suspension Ferris for next year
again, hope everyoneโs good I will continue to update my condition I hear that some side effects take over a year to show up

My oncologist is also recommending up to 2X the OTC doses of Immodium for radiation-influenced diarrhea, and I'm taking .8 mg of Tamsulosin and 6 mg of Terazosin daily to reduce urination frequency but still getting up 4X nightly. He recommends against napping, thinking it'll make my nighttime sleep even worse. Finally at treatment 31 I had to wait an extra 30 min. for my bladder to be full enough. This is a unique treatment ride!

unique. Yup yup. Every time that they ask me if Iโm ready for the ballon up my rear. Iโve said - Not really ๐คฃ
wonโt miss that for sure0 -
I'm not sure about the "balloon," but I have a gel (SpaceOar) pillow inserted between bladder and rectum for radiation protection. Today has been a better day, but I haven't had treatment or exercise, so the rest must be helping. I'm glad to have the weekends "off."

sounds better than mine. Stick a ballon up your rear and fill it with 90cc of air to keep colon out of the way
Weekends were always my favorite time. Looking fwd to having all my days to myself

ok. Iโm done. 35 of 35 completed at 1030am
Crew liked the (18) donuts I brought in. Got my checkout from Dr Wentz. Said I did very well
Recap. After end of week 2, I didnโt experience any side effects. He said I may have some during recovery period. Weโll see
However since Iโm retired navy, I have to put myself on report. This past weekend, I drank some rum on Friday and on all Friday-Sun, I ate regular food and meals. No issues on Friday and Saturday. But, diarrhea all day Sunday from 11a-1130p. ๐ฉ
Last one at 1130p it felt like fire was coming out my rear end ๐ณ. I was sure that when I checked all the hair had been burned off my bottom. But, alas no such luck ๐
Oh and Iโm back on the rice, chicken, and protein shakes for another 3 weeks
enjoyed reading everyoneโs stories and will continue to check in and also give updates if Iโm having issues
Hope All you wonderful guys have a GREAT week ๐๐๐
