Update on my esophageal cancer

I had an esophagectomy on Oct 2 to remove a squamous cell carcinoma tumor. I was stage 2 with no metastasis. I had a complication after my surgery (an Anastomotic leak) and spent an extra month in the hospital. It was a rough time and I was pretty ill. I lost 37 pounds. I am doing better now, thankfully. I have recently began having choking episodes when eating, so on April 1st I am having a procedure to stretch my new esophagus. I am feeling much better but not 100% back to normal. I still get easily fatigued and still have some right rib pain where they went in to perform the surgery. All in all I am better though. Another positive note is that the pathology on the tumor that was removed showed that all the cancer was gone, so the radiation did its job. This surgery was rougher than I had anticipated. I was not able to return to work as soon as I had I thought I would, but I am back to work now. I posted when I was first diagnosed and so many people on here were very helpful, so I wanted to post an update. Hope everyone is doing well.
