Does anyone have Interstitial Cystitis?

Hi, I'm a 49 yo male and I have been over at the Kidney cancer board. I'm about to begin my fight with kidney cancer. However, I have had Interstitial Cystitis for over 22 years and I've heard that very chronic inflammation of the bladder can cause cancer. Of course pretty much every symptom of bladder cancer is the same symptoms of IC. Sometimes when I have a flare-up, I wonder if this time it could be cancer. This disease triggers incontinence and I was wondering if any of you experience incontinence as well.

A urologist can do a cystoscopy and provide a clinical assessment of what they find inside the bladder. I religiously get a follow up with my urologist once a year.

Every success on your kidney cancer battle.

I am going to schedule a cystoscopy with hydrodistenation, which is a common treatment for IC. I haven't had one in over 10 years. I have been peeing out chunks of white tissue. Doc says it's skin, like my bladder has dandruff. This will be a great opportunity to clean that out and check for cancer.
