I am pretty terrified
Since mid sept. I have been passing blood very intermittently, sharp pain as if I am passing glass/sand paper and persistent itching around the anus almost every bowel movement. I have no pain outside of BM I am 37 years old, non immune supressed, no hiv etc otherwise in healthy shape in a long term relationship.
I had a colonscopy 2 years ago which reportedly showed nothing besides an interal hemorrhoid.
I saw one gi specialist twice with one DR Exam and followed up with colorectal surgeon twice for continued symptoms. Two additional DRE by colorectal. I think I may have anal cancer and i'm being misdiagnosed. My symptoms are persisting with little change though the pain is significantly decrease since adding stool softeners. I feel like the Dr. Look at me like I'm insane with i bring up my concern of a malignancy. I don't know if i should take their lack of concern as a positive and move on or if i am being disregarded. Anyway, both Dr's are well regarded cornell and tufts educated with decades of experience.
I hate to ask but would really appreciate the insights, Did most of you have a hard felt obvious mass? Or anything that visually appeared out of the normal. I wish you all the best

Seems to me you need to change doctors. I had same symptoms, thought they were hemorrhoids until I went to another doctor who referred me to outpatients specialist who said "cancer" Cat 1 priority. From there had a colonoscope and they took a piece which confirmed it. Saw a specialist who sent me for MRI results were it has spread and now await a PE scan of whole body to see what organs if any or other areas it has spread. The specialist said not operable, kemo and radiation only
Do Not leave it, you are way to young.
